Aikikai Aikido Clubs Public Union was founded on September 10, 2001. The main task of the Public Union is to remain loyal to the position and tradition of aikido in the territory of Azerbaijan and unite Aikikai-oriented organizations around it. Aikikai Aikido Clubs Public Union is a member and representative of the International Aikido Federation and the Aikikai Foundation in the country. Our union participates in international competitions organized by the International Olympic Committee, Sport Accord, the International World Games Association, and the Alliance of Independent Recognized Sports Members.

The Aikikai Foundation Public Interest Association was founded by O Sensei Morihei Ueshiba and 2nd Doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba. The Aikikai Foundation is more fully known as the Aikikai Foundation World Aikido Headquarters or in many places as the Aikido Hombu Dojo. True and pure aikido belongs to the Ueshiba family. Styles promoted under other names of aikido are not considered aikido.

The International Aikido Federation was founded in 1976 by 2nd Doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba. The International Aikido Federation is the only major aikido organization in the world. All international sports organizations around the world recognize and cooperate only with the International Aikido Federation. True and pure aikido belongs to the Ueshiba family. Styles promoted under the name of other aikido are not included in the ranks of the International Aikido Federation.
