As the staff of the Azerbaijan Aikikai Aikido Clubs Public Union, we are engaged in aikido activities following the path of the founder of aikido, O Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, and are committed to traditional aikido (AIKIKAI FOUNDATION). We represent Aikido Doshu Mr. Moriteru Ueshiba Sensei in Azerbaijan. All participants must be recognized by the HOMBU, therefore the International Aikido Federation represents only the AIKIKAI school. The Director of the Aikikai Foundation is Dojo Cho Mitsuteru Ueshiba Sensei.

Aikikai Foundation Azerbaijan Aikido Headquarters (state-registered legal name – Aikikai Aikido Clubs Public Union) deals with the organization and management of joint cooperation of Aikikai Aikido-oriented clubs operating in the territory of the country and under the union. Aikikai Foundation Azerbaijan Aikido Headquarters, represents Aikikai Foundation World Aikido Headquarters in Azerbaijan. The main activity goal of the headquarters is to establish and maintain cooperation with aikido-oriented organizations, state (ministries, etc.) and non-state organizations (sponsors, etc.).

Azerbaijan “Aikikai Aikido Clubs” Public Union was admitted to the membership of the Aikikai Foundation World Aikido Headquarters on December 1, 2017. From this date, it has gained the status of the only member organization in Azerbaijan. According to the decision dated January 3, 2018, the Union established the Aikikai headquarters in Azerbaijan and granted the following authority.

1. Organizing participation in international (foreign) Aikikai Foundation seminars;
2. Assembling the delegation participating in Aikikai Foundation events;
3. Organizing an Aikikai Foundation seminar in Azerbaijan;
4. Electing members to award Dan ranks to Kagami Biraki at the Aikikai Foundation event;
5. Assembling the national delegation of Aikikai Foundation festival participants;
6. Assembling the national team of participants for Aikikai Embukai Foundation events;
7. Overall management of the relevant organizational work for the events.

The Headquarters first coordinates the applications of clubs wishing to join the legal membership with the Membership Admission Commission. After the process is completed, it manages the admission of the new club to the union with the participation of the Collegium of Clubs.

Another duty of the headquarters is to manage the High Degree Commission. The main task of the High Degree Commission is to deal with the decisions to be made for the presentation of 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Dan degrees only during the Kagami Biraki event, not the general exams. High Degree Commission
