On July 1, 2021, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Wada Junichi met with Chairman of the Azerbaijan Aikikai Aikido Clubs Public Union Ilham Guliyev.

Chairman of the Aikikai Aikido Clubs Public Union Ilham Guliyev presented an official letter from the International Aikido Federation to the ambassador. The ambassador was informed about the issue. The current state of Aikido martial arts and its promotion in the Azerbaijan Republic were discussed at the meeting.
