World Combat Games 2023
The Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) announced on May 28 in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, that an international multisport event featuring 15 martial arts and martial arts members of the 2023 GAISF has been awarded the World War Games (WCG). The Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) said in a statement that WCG is an incredible celebration of martial arts and martial arts, showcasing the world’s best athletes and making a global impact on the sport and the host city. Supported by GAISF, WCG seeks to build bridges between elite sports and local communities through inspiring initiatives that encourage youth participation in martial arts and martial arts. The Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), based in Lausanne, Switzerland, is an umbrella organization for all international sports federations, as well as organizers of multi-sport games and international sports-related associations. From March 2009 to April 2017, it changed its name to SportAccord after returning to its previous name.

Aikikai Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan is represented at this event by 2 members of the national team of Aikikai Aikido Clubs Public Union, Fakhri Gafarli 3 Dan and Turan Ibrahimli 1 Dan. This is the first time that Azerbaijan has been invited to the World Martial Arts Games. Thus, Azerbaijan Aikido is a member of the International Aikido Federation and its representative office in Azerbaijan since November 13, 2021. Fakhri Gafarli previously participated in the World Games 2022 held in Birmingham, Alabama, United States of America, and was included in the 32-member team of the International Aikido Federation.
